this assignment has been very useful for me because it helped me know and understand the process and methods to follow in other to upload files in a web hosting site and to post in a blog. As a matter of fact, i discovered many different web hosting sites such as bravenet and webs and many different blogs. with the help of the assignment, i learned the process of linking a website to a blog site which consist of creating a HTML page first and then upload it in a web hosting site with the pictures in the same folder. Secondly, we build a blog site where we can post later and then link it to the web site.
Concerning the methods, there are many. Thus we can either build the blog site first and then create a web site to link them through a hypertext link or finish with the web site first and then build the blog site.
what about the technologies and tools? in this matter there are many technologies and tools students use. As the first one, the windows notepad was helpful in building the web page using the HTML language. the most important technology was internet because it allowed the connection to the web sever, thus the possibility of hypertext link. Finally, the file manager of the web hosling site was very useful for the uploading of the files and the editing of the web page.
Even though i eventually got the ouput i wanted, it was not without difficulties. As a matter of fact,we had some issues with the pictures. it was difficult to make them appear on the web page. w finally manage to do it by simply putting them into a same folder and changing the location in the html code.
The choice for the web hosting sever was another issue. To put it bluntly, we many choices such as bravenet, webs.com. we didn't know what web sever to choose because bravenet and bravehost are well known and webs.com is easy to use. our choice eventually turned in favor of webs because of its simplicity.
Another difficulty was the uploading of the files in the sever because it was our first time to do that.
Fortunately for us, creating a blog site was not our first time. we use to have meetings where we use blog sites to publish our information. it is a routine.
Personnaly, i liked this assignment because i learned much through the difficulties i encountered. i am able to create and manage my own web site now. having this type of work again would be much easier for me since i already have some knowledge, thanks to the assignment.
